Pre-sales Architect

Are you a Pre-sales Architect with a passion for public cloud? Does it make you happy to advise clients and colleagues? Do you enjoy creating designs, preparing business cases and planning migration processes to the public cloud? Would you like to learn everything about new technologies and apply them directly to projects with our customers?

We are seeking Pre-sales Architects who can live up to our motto "Lead the way". Our ambition? To set up and maintain environments in the most cloud native possible setup. We do this by automating and capturing as much as we can in code. In addition, we redesign environments, so our customers can move their applications and workloads to Azure in the most cloud native way possible. As Pre-sales Architect you deliver an important role in the start of projects with customers.

What will you be doing?
During meetings with customers, you offer a listening ear before you start to talk. You make sure to get a good picture of the customer's problems and challenges. Based on that, you can provide some advice and ensure you make concrete, clear follow-up arrangements.

You discuss this with your sales colleagues. Then you decide who you need from the organization to help the customer. You create a strong proposal that incorporates architecture, a high-level design, a technical vision, a plan of approach, and IT and human resources cost calculations. You also ensure alignment with the operational team that will serve this customer. Together with your sales colleagues, you will convince the customer to follow this path.

If successful, you ensure quality assurance, together with the operational team. That way you can ensure the customer actually gets what we promised. Approximately 50% of your work consists of pre-sales and 50% is after-sales.

The most successful Sentian AWS Engineers...

  • Hold a Bachelors’ degree at a minimum
  • Are broadly technically oriented
  • Always know better, yet listen very well
  • Have both technical and coordinating experience (gained for example, through projects, scrum teams, or from the business side)
  • Know a lot about both the new world and old world, but prefer the new world (DevOps, Agile, IT service management, Prince 2 or projects)
  • Have a good level of English, both verbal and written
  • Nice to have: knowledge of, or interest in Togaf, Archiate, Prince2, Azure, AWS, containers, various forms of virtualization, application architecture, system architecture, affinity with business administration, affinity with sales

The team

The Pre-sales Architect is part of the consultancy team, where you interact with (potential) customers, sales colleagues, Customer Success Managers, Engineers and Team Managers. A lot will come down to using your own initiative and you will frequently work alongside other colleagues.

Onboarding

As soon as you begin working at Sentia, you will be assigned a buddy. Your buddy is a colleague who familiarizes you with your team, the systems, culture and way of working. You will also be introduced to the clients.

During the initial period, you will mostly be busy learning how we work. You will need to understand our standard of IaC coding, our deployment mechanisms and our operational processes. You also get to know our communication style and our sales process (both pre-sales and after-sales). Shortly after this your first assignments will come in, where you will help and advise new and existing customers.

Luckily, we work with a clear process at Sentia and everything is clearly documented. You can also approach your colleagues with any questions you may have. Your individual development is of central importance to us, and we consider it imperative that this opportunity is put to use within Sentia.
