Troubleshooting

Fast and effective troubleshooting in complex IT environments

Reduce downtime and restore stable operations

When critical systems or applications fail, it has direct consequences for employees, customers, and the organization. Unclear root causes, lengthy troubleshooting processes, and limited visibility can prolong downtime and increase pressure on the organization. With Troubleshooting, you get a structured and efficient approach to identifying issues across your IT landscape. We help you quickly determine the root causes of performance problems - whether they occur in applications, infrastructure, networks, or integrations. Through deep technical insight, analysis, and experience, you can achieve faster and more lasting problem resolution and ensure stable IT operations going forward.

Effective troubleshooting

Gain fast and precise insight into where and why problems occur. With a systematic troubleshooting approach, data is analyzed across systems and dependencies so that the root cause can be identified efficiently. This reduces guesswork and ensures that efforts are focused where they make the biggest difference.

Our approach

1. Initial investigation

The initial investigation focuses on determining the best approach and aligning expectations from the outset. We conduct interviews, install measurement points in the infrastructure, and gather relevant technical information, as well as any previous analyses. Based on this, we define the scope of the problem, formulate the key issues and analysis questions, and create a plan for the next steps. In some cases, quick wins can already be identified at this stage.

2. Investigation

Sentia conducts an objective investigation of the specific performance issues. This may include reproducing the problem and collecting both basic and more in-depth measurements. The in-depth measurements may focus on specific parts of the IT environment, such as networks, servers, databases, or workstations. Throughout the process, we document activities and results, giving you continuous insight into the status and outcomes of the troubleshooting process.

3. Analysis

In the analysis phase, we compile the technical and organizational findings and examine the relationships between them. The goal is to identify the actual causes of the performance issues based on objective data. The analysis may also show whether additional investigations are needed if not all questions have yet been answered.

4. Recommendations

Once the analysis is complete, we translate the findings into concrete recommendations. We share preliminary results on an ongoing basis, allowing for adjustments along the way if necessary. The process concludes with a report summarizing our assessment and outlining possible technical and process-related actions to resolve the issues.

5. Summary

With our troubleshooting approach, we help you to:

  • create an objective picture of the IT performance experienced by users
  • document what is causing the performance issues
  • receive concrete recommendations for performance optimization
  • make the results visible from the end-user’s perspective
